U10 Girls Maroon Stingrays – 2014 Fall Tournament Champions
NSSA U10 Girls Maroon Stingrays have stellar Fall season!
This Fall (2014) the Stingrays faced the top academy soccer teams in Minnesota for their age group at the Fall Cup and the Woodbury Fall Classic. Going undefeated in all of those matches proves that hard work during training does pay off during matches. The team has an agreement in place in which they train during practice the way they play in a match, which is with high intensity. This group of girls have worked hard over the past several years and continue to grow together. Even though we don't focus on win / loss at the U9 / U10 levels it is hard not to notice as these girls certainly like to compete.” The Stingrays are coached by Sean Stinnett.
The NSSA U12 C1 Girls had a successful tournament season with a Championship finish at the Lake Superior Open in Duluth and 2nd place finish at USA Cup. The girls prevailed in Duluth after rain delays and muddy fields. At USA Cup, the girls lost 2-1 to Winnipeg in the final 2 minutes of an exciting, defensive battle. The Blue Crew was coached this summer by Karin Meloch, John Reinart and Grace Hanson.
The NSSA Girls U12 C3 Team brought home first place at the St. Croix Cup in Lakeland, MN, May 30 - June 1. The girls worked hard through rainy conditions to take home the gold after adrenaline filled wins against St. Croix 5-2 and East Ridge (C2) 2-1. The championship game was rained out and our girls were awarded first place due to points. Great job ladies.
Congratulations to our NSSA U17 Premier ladies on their 2014 MYSA State Cup victory! For the second year in a row, they faced Shattuck St. Mary in the finals and came away with a 2-0 victory after advancing against St. Croix (2-0) and Tonka United (4-3) in the elimination rounds. The team traveled to Ohio to represent Minnesota in the Midwest Regional Championships June 2014. Yay NSSA Blast!
